A very high quality audio-amp in a 5-pin TO-220 package that does not require insulating washers between the tab and the heatsink in single rail supply applications. The amp will deliver 20W into 4 or 8 loads with a 50V supply. The device uses advance circuit techniques to achieve extremely low distortion levels even at high output levels (only 0· 015% at 1kHz and 0· 05% at 20kHz into 8 and 0· 07% at 20kHz into 4 all with 20W output). Care must be taken with the PCB layout and the data sheet shows suitable layouts for the circuits shown. |
| Note that if using a dual supply the IC's tab must be insulated from the heatsink and since this increases the thermal resistance a larger heatsink will be required. |
